The Palash flower is considered to be the form of Agni, the god of fire. In West Bengal, it is associated with spring and finds mention in many of its literature. In Jharkhand, the Palash flower is strongly related with its folk tradition while in Telangana, these are specialy used in the worship of Lord Shiva.
